hi SUZANNE, yes, the spinning wheel is usable, it was made for me when i was in England. However, it needs "tuning", oiling and balancing, and is currently stored in my mom's bedroom. That day we had a bit of a family reunion and my sister's daughter was taking pictures, so i decided to "pose" for her, just for laughs.

I was trying to teach my mom to spin as she is going blind and is not able to knit and sew anymore and we thought that spinning was something that she could do by feel, but i am not a very good teacher. i used to belong to the Whonnock Weavers and Spinners while i was still married, but now just no time. i will try to find some photos of my club when we won a prize in the Sheep to Shawl contest, in which we have the better part of a day to card, spin and weave a shawl from a freshly shorn fleece.
Weaving was difficult for me, as it is very mathematical...not one of my strong points.

Knitting and crochetting have come back in style. My daughter has her own site showing her stuff, and you could check out her friend's site "Nadia's Crafting Adventures One Down and TooMany to Go!" There is a whole circle of young women who knit and crochet, and some fabulous new patterns - you might like to check it out.

Is there a way that i can transfer this comment quickly to your site?

mental hugs,
pj

hi Sylvia, yes, and the blue sky is from a picture out of a very very old book of photos of Canada, i just placed the photo of me on top, added a few little stars and scanned it.... i just felt like pretending to be "angelic" for a change.

yeah, CJ, i was wondering where your photo is, and i cannot remember what you look like. i was having trouble with my blog a day or so ago...could not connect at all...and this morning i could not even connect to my e-mail...strange happenings in cyberspace...

i don't believe that good recipes should be kept a secret...and after all, we ARE all one family, no?

so WILLY, CJ, check out Kenneth's Kitchen, one of my other blogs...i will post the recipe for Cloud 9 Pie soon - if you like Lemon and/or merengue you will love this light and tangy delight! - if you still can't find it i can e-mail it to you...
and thanks for your positive feedback...

i would like a recipe for Jalepino Jelly...???
cheers,
pj
