dreaming of Paradise

...so now i have to try to refresh my memory...

...We arrived at Kahului Airport (after a long long flight because we had a layover of 4 hours in LA) around 6:00 ish and it was already getting dark...as most of you know it gets dark early in Hawaii...since we only had carry-on luggage we were able to get a shuttle directly to the car-rental place. About 1/2 an hour later we were on our way. Because it had been quite a few years since my last visit i did not recognize the turn-off and were heading towards Kihei when we realized we were on the wrong road. We back tracked and got onto the right road. Entering Lahaina we decided to hit Walgreins (?? - i think it was),for the special sun-screen that my friend wanted, then SafeWay for food supplies. So it was quite late when we finally staggered into the lobby of the beautiful Ka'anapali Shores Beach Resort

(oh, we missed the turnoff there also and ended up in Honokowai before we found a safe place to turn around. We were exhausted when we finally got to our room, but we managed to get the food into the fridge, and unpack our bags. Then we lay down on our beds.
BLISSS, utter heavenly mattresses...I felt like i was sleeping on a cloud (well, as i would imagine a cloud to feel, since i have never actually slept on one, at least in THIS life-time!! Hah hah!)

...to be continued...

ALOHA!

Self-portrait?

FINALLY, a new post (brief) as i am watching a few of the Olympic entries (Snow Cross, Speed Skating, Luge etc)...and, while i do not support the extragant spending on some of the venues, publicity (own the podium, what rot!), the so-called "free" events (we will be paying for those for years to come), I do appreciate the effort of the olympians themselves...too bad big corporate sharks have to give it such a bad flavour...and that is all the ranting i am going to do...just two photos (for now - more to follow) of my fab Hawaiian Holiday in November...

...under my umbrella beside the pool...
